The 2019 Wayside Prowl was a great time. The early morning kids got to experience the sun and a walk around the neighborhood. The AHPD even gave them a motorcycle escort which was a ton of fun for the kids and the parents. Their Wayside older buddies came out to cheer them on and many of them brought signs. As the rain started, the fun moved inside, and the kids had the Kona Ice Truck to keep them cool and with colorful sugar mustaches. The field games were in the gym and it was fun to see all the kids together versus spread out in the field at Pioneer. Mrs. Jones led the activities and each grade got to play along. Many of the cross-country kids were glad to save their legs as they had the conference meet that afternoon where many of them set personal bests!
A big thank you to Tracey Dolsen, Laura Collins, and Heather Jackman for chairing and organizing the event. This is their 4th and last year of making the Prowl a special event. They made a great team. We also want to thank the Pacillio family for donating the amazing balloon arches and cowbells which really helped show our school spirit. Tony's Finer Foods donated all the fruit and many parents/teachers were huge helps in organizing the kids with the revised schedule. It was wonderful to see the whole Wayside community out in force!
